Yangon Arrival

Day 1: Arrival in Yangon international airport, welcomed by tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Full day city tour in Yangon starts with drive through the colonial style buildings downtown, the Chinatown area and the Indian quarter. Visit center's useful landmark, Sule Zedi with its golden octagonal pagoda. Continue to Temple of Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha. Stop alongside Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake to take photographs over the lake towards Shwedagon. Enjoy the sunset at Shwedagon -

Yangon- Golden Rock Pagoda

Day 2: Breakfast at hotel. Morning drive for 4 hours, through seemingly endless paddy fields to the small town of Kyaikto and on to the "base camp" of Kinpun, where take a truck up a bumpy track about half way up the mountain. Check into hotel. From here, walk up the path which climbs to the legendary "Golden Rock". (The climb takes around 1 hour and those unwilling, or not fit enough, to walk can hire four porters to carry them in a sedan chair). The climb offers magnificent views over the surrounding countryside and the opportunity to make friends with many local people who make the pilgrimage to Kyaikhtiyo. The incredible "Golden Rock" sits precariously on top of the mountain, and is said to balance thanks to a precisely placed hair relics of Buddha. Weather permitting, sunset views from Mount Kyaikhtiyo are amazing. Return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Golden Rock Pagoda- Bago- Yangon

Day 3: Breakfast at hotel. Walk down the mountain and return by truck to your car. Drive back to Yangon via Bago, bustling commercial town located nearest from Yangon (80 km) where visit Shwemawdaw pagoda which has a stupa inlaid with diamonds and is Bago's golden landmark. See Shwetharlyaung Buddha, which dates from 994 and is revered throughout Myanmar as the most beautiful Reclining Buddha. An optional tour is included on the way back to Yangon at the British War Cemetery near Htauk Kyan. Check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel. (B)

Yangon- Twante- Yangon

Day 4: Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to jetty for day excursion to Twante, a village with very much original character, by RV Mahaythi cruise on Yangon River. Upon arrival after passing into Twante canal which is interesting with daily life of rural habitations, visit to Shwesandaw Pagoda, and pottery area where a large part of the population in Twante is engaged in production pottery. Walking through the many workshops where locals are busy molding pots, we will be able to observe this very traditional craft. Cruising back to Yangon in the early afternoon. Lunch will be served on board. Leisure at Yangon in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Yangon. (B)

Day 5: Breakfast at hotel. Morning sightseeing with local market in typical atmosphere of bustling activities, and proceed to central station to take circular train, about one hour, as an alternative way of visit in Yangon to most authenticities. Afternoon sightseeing includes Kabaaye (world peace) pagoda which was dedicated for 6th Buddhist synod, Naga glass factory where hand-made glass making techniques could be observed, and sunset panoramic view along famous Inya lake bank. Overnight stay at hotel in Yangon. (B)

Yangon Departure

Day 6: Breakfast at hotel. Morning city tour to National Museum with an 8-meter-high Golden Lion Throne and Mandalay Royal Regalia. A stop at Bogyoke (Scott) Market gives travelers the opportunity to see Myanmar's wide range of handicrafts. Leisure at hotel until the transfer to airport for international departure. (B)
