Myanmar Food and Beverage

Typical Myanmar food mainly consists of plain rice and curry of meats, which are generally in rich gravy composed of tomato, onion, chili, garlic, sometimes ginger, and fish paste, although Myanmar's cuisine is influenced by India, as well as by China, the curries are slightly different from the Indian variety, involving fewer spices and more garlic and ginger. The sauté vegetables and salads are mostly accompanied; even bowls of soup are also made of assorted vegetables. The dried fishes are useful for many different recipes. The taste normally is perfumed, relatively spicy and salted. As particular condiments, boiled and fresh vegetables are disposable with condensed fish source during the meal time. The most nationally popular dish is Mohingha which is on the basic of thick fish soup and small fermented rice noodle. This can be easily found in every street corner’s shop. Desserts usually consist of fruit, including such exotic treats as mango and the foul smelling but delicious durian. Green tea and tea brewed with condensed milk and sugar as well are the most usual drinks, while coffee has more recently become popular in cities. Alcoholic drinks are generally not favored in a Buddhist country, although there are local beers and strong liquors made from the juice of the toddy palm.
